Konstantine Gatsios is Professor (Department of Economics) and former Rector of the Athens University of Economics and Business (2011-2015). Since 2015 he has been serving as a member of the International Board of the University of Vienna. He obtained his Ph.D. (1987) from the University of Cambridge, where he taught and also served as a Fellow and Director of Studies in Economics at Fitzwilliam College (1987-1992). His main scientific interests are in the area of economic theory and policy. He is active in the public debate in Greece with newspaper articles and radio and TV interviews. In 2017 he was a candidate for the position of the president of the new political party for the national and the productive revival of the country.
